Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a procedure that is used to treat spider veins by injecting a medication directly into the vein using a fine needle. The medication is made up of a chemical-salt solution that irritates the vein and causes it to swell, harden, and close up. Once this happens, the vein dies and blood flow is re-directed through healthy veins, and the diseased vein disappears from view.
